As cégeps prepare to welcome students for the fall semester, some are making moves to decrease student stress and encourage them to embrace their experience. Champlain College Lennoxville is providing mental well-being training to faculty and setting up groups and platforms that students, faculty, and administrative staff can use to manage increased stress. The cégep will also offer its sentinel program, which allows first year students to receive support from peer educators. Rejean Bergeron, who worked at Cégep Beauce-Appalaches for ten years, also penned an article for Le Soleil encouraging students to relax and enjoy the cégep experience. Bergeron writes about the purpose of cégeps as a transitional step that helps high school graduates smoothly move into university.
