Western establishes $5M endowed chair in mobility and activity

Western University has announced that it will be establishing the William and Lynne Gray Endowed Research Chair in Mobility and Activity, thanks to a $2.5M donation from William and Lynne Gray. The donation has been matched by Western to create a $5M endowment that will support Western professor Dr Siobhan Schabrun’s research on the treatment and prevention of chronic pain using neuroscience. The research will focus on identifying biomarkers that predict whether individuals will continue to struggle with pain after their body has healed, as well as the development of treatments to target the neuroscientific mechanisms of pain.
