The private institution Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy’s board of directors has rejected a Government of Québec offer to become an affiliate campus overseen by the Cégep de Sainte-Foy. CNDF previously applied to become a public cégep. However, QC ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur Martine Biron said that becoming an affiliate campus would have enabled integration into the public network at a lower cost. Association générale des étudiantes du campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy said it believes that independence ensures CNDF would maintain its level of personalized service. Cégep de Sainte-Foy explained that it had not been aware of the offer or its rejection prior to the information going public. CNDF management said that all involved parties should be consulted about any potential solutions to provide higher education to Portneuf.
