Laurentian University is reportedly taking steps to address the lingering effects of the university’s insolvency proceedings. “What surprised me the most was just how raw the emotion was for some people. [… T]hey’re still really feeling the effects of what happened five years ago,” said Laurentian President Lynn Wells, who met with more than 100 members of Laurentian’s community about their concerns. Wells has reportedly outlined 14 action items for the institution that include the creation of an advisory committee, giving staff and faculty voting seats on the board, improving workloads, and working with deans to provide students with more flexible learning opportunities.
