The Government of Manitoba is restoring the 1:1 apprenticeship-to-journeyperson ratio on October 30th in order to ensure that apprentices receive adequate supervision and supports throughout their training. MB Economic Development, Investment, Trade and Natural Resources Minister Jamie Moses noted that other regulatory changes will also be made to modernize the apprenticeship system and improve the province’s competitiveness. A review of Apprenticeship Manitoba is currently underway. “This change will help young Manitobans feel sure that when they enter the training program, they are supported to completion so that they can build their careers and support their families here at home,” said Manitoba Building Trades Executive Director Tanya Palson.
