The Okanagan College Faculty Association (OCFA) voiced their concerns over the health of the Salmon Arm campus in a letter to politicians earlier this month, according to Today in BC. The association informed the Salmon Arm council, Kamloops-Shuswap-Central Rockies MP Mel Arnold, and Salmon Arm-Shuswap MLA David Williams of several concerns including reductions in offered courses, an increase in online teaching, and a reduction in supports for Salmon Arm campus students. “The need for us to send this letter externally reflects the lack of local leadership at the institution,” said OCFA VP Sean Johnston, writing for OCFA president Caroline Gilchrist. The OCFA urged the recipients to voice their support for the campus at the Okanagan College board meeting in Salmon Arm on June 23.
