The Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer (ONCAT) has released a report on the factors influencing students’ mobility decisions in Ontario. With students increasingly following indirect, nontraditional pathways, ONCAT conducted a survey and interviews to better understand the information sources that students used and the factors that influenced their decision-making processes. The study found that respondents were generally considering a relatively small set of institutions for transfer and that they were most interested in institutions that met practical considerations around academic programs, proximity to home, and options like flexibility or offering advanced standing.
