Saint Paul University has announced the creation of the Research Chair for Diversity and Hospitality in the French-Speaking World. The chair is the first Francophone-focused chair affiliated with the University of Ottawa’s College of Chairs. The chair has two primary research goals: examining challenges facing democracy that impact social engagement, as well as identifying and documenting forms of social and political engagement. The chair will place a particular emphasis on Francophone minority communities and Francophone newcomers. SPU Associate Professor Dr Sophie Cloutier will hold the inaugural position.
