URSU postpones vote regarding dissolution after meeting

The University of Regina Students’ Union has postponed the vote on its dissolution. CBC reports that the resolution would have both dissolved the students’ union and also released URSU from liability related to its operations. During the meeting, students expressed their frustration about the meeting’s virtual format and the voting process, and the meeting was ended without a vote taking place. CTV News said that hundreds of students were unable to access the meeting. URegina student Matthew McStravick told CBC that the wording of the motion was “double-barrelled” because it would release URSU of all liability and allow the union to seal records that may answer student questions.
