Yukon News reports that Yukon University is working towards launching its first law degree in 2027, with applications opening for a single-cohort Juris Doctor in Fall 2026. YukonU is developing the program with the University of Calgary, and the two parties are currently working to formalize an agreement regarding the joint delivery of the degree. YukonU Northern Director of Law Caroline Grady said that UCalgary would be responsible for the program’s accreditation. The degree’s first-year courses will be primarily taught by faculty from UCalgary, while second- and third-year courses will be taught by faculty from UCalgary, Yukon lawyers, and other instructors.
